Chezidek bio:
Chezidek the Herbalist, the Rastafarian roots and culture singer from St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica.
He emerged upon the scene in 2002 with his first album HARVEST TIME on VP Records, produced by Phillip ‘Fattis’ Burrell of Exterminator Records. Chezidek’s unique voice and melodies combined with cultural, spiritual and political topics which quickly earned him a place in the hearts of Reggae fans in Jamaica and worldwide.
In 2004 Chezidek brought forth his first big hit, Leave de Trees, a song he recorded for Hugh Miller on the Our Promotion label. It topped the Reggae charts and made him a household name in Jamaica, the Caribbean and everywhere reggae can be heard.
2007 saw the release of his 3rd album INNA DI ROAD on Green sleeves Records, produced by Bobby Konders of Massive B Records. Featuring hits like Inna De Road, Dem a Fight We and Call Pon Dem, the album is one of the most loved in roots and culture music today. 2009’s HERBALIST on Tad’s Records.
Chezidek has performed before thousands of fans in Jamaica, the Caribbean, the United States and Europe on most of the major Reggae festivals. He has worked with popular producers such as Bobby Digital, Don Corleone, and Sly and Robbie as well as European based producer Jah Solid Rock, who released two albums with Chezidek, JUDGEMENT TIME and more recently, THE ORDER OF MELCHEZEDIK, both for Hearbeat Europe.
Chezidek is one of a select few roots singers who sticks to conscious lyrics in his music and never veers into popular hype. As a youth, coming from the home of the Honorable Marcus Garvey, Robert Nesta Marley and Burning Spear, Chezidek was influenced by the ancient Rastafarian tradition and his African roots. He is a man of righteousness inspired by the Most High Jah Rastafar I.
Chezidek’s latest album, FREEDOM FIGHTERS, released in August of 2013, was produced by One Drop records out of California. It is another chapter from the book of the spiritual chanter, Chezidek the herbalist, the environmentalist, the Italist, the defender of cannabis, sharing his songs of redemption with all reggae fans worldwide as he continues on his spiritual, musical journey with the message of righteousness and justice.
Chezidek’s latest hit single, All My Life, from the album The Order Of Melchezedik has been rocking the reggae scene with more than 12 million views on youtube and is still climbing on YouTube. Judgment Day, produced by Wayne ‘Unga’ Thompson and Damage from Overstand Entertainment, have all been making a positive impact on the worldwide reggae scene.
Chezidek recently released Ungrateful People and Search For The Money and Because I'm Black on his newly formed label, Puppa Chezi Productions, which is receiving a favorable response for the song’s insightful lyrics and melodic riddim.
Chezidek is currently about to release his 11th album " Irie Day".
